BRIEF: North Shore surf to get smaller

The big waves hitting O'ahu's North Shore were expected to subside slightly this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Surf along north facing shores that was forecast to be 16 to 20 feet this morning is projected to be 12 to 16 feet this afternoon. The forecast for tomorrow is 10 to 14 feet.
Surf along west facing shores, forecast for 5 to 10 feet today, is expected to be 4 to 7 feet tomorrow.
Surf along east facing shores will be 4 to 7 feet today, rising to 6 to 8 feet tomorrow, the weather service said.
Along south facing shores, surf is forecast to lower to 2 feet or less tomorrow.
