BRIEF: NASA talk in Hampton to focus on ocean robots
HAMPTON, Apr 02, 2012 (The Virginian-Pilot - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Bill Vass, the CEO of Liquid Robotics, will present a free talk on Tuesday about technology that allows robots to operate independently at sea for years by harvesting their energy from the environment.
His company combines wave energy propulsion, robotics, micro and nano sensors, cloud computing, wireless communications, GPS and smart phone computing technology into ocean data collection and research systems.
The talk, sponsored by NASA Langley Research Center, begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Virginia Air and Space Center.
