BRIEF: Most have power back, utility says
Jun 28, 2009 (Albany Times Union - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A National Grid Web site says that power has been restored to all but a handful of customers in Albany County after an outage hit sections of the county earlier today.
At its peak, the outage affected about 2,200 customers in the village of Altamont and portions of Guilderland, Knox and Berne. The music went on, albeit without power, at the Old Songs Festival at Altamont Fairgrounds earlier today. Power was restored around 3 p.m., in time for the festival's closing show.
Earlier, National Grid spokesman Alberto Bianchetti said three crews were in the area attempting to restore power. He said the outage may have been related to damage to equipment from storms that passed through the area Saturday night.
