BRIEF: Manassas Park police search for store robber
(Manassas Journal Messenger Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dec. 31--The Manassas Park police department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at the Checks Cashed store at 8460 Centreville Road at approximately 9:50 a.m. The robber entered the business armed with a gun and demanded money, according to a police-issued press release Wednesday.
The suspect forced the employee into a back room where he grabbed a bag containing a large sum of money. He then exited via the front door and fled the scene in a vehicle, last seen heading towards Old Centreville Road.
The suspect is a Hispanic male, approximately 5-foot-10 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds and was last seen wearing black/dark color jeans and a dark colored sweater with white zipper, white sleeves and two dark wide stripes at the shoulders.
His face was partially concealed. The suspect's vehicle is bluish-green, missing a front driver's side hubcap with unknown tags. The car is believed to be an older model Chevrolet Cavalier or Saturn.
Anyone having information, please call Detective Miller at 703-335-2243. Manassas Park Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
