BRIEF: Longtime Rochester library director dies [Post-Bulletin, Rochester, Minn. :: ]


(Post-Bulletin (Rochester, MN) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 24--Longtime Rochester Library Director Judith Taylor, who oversaw the planning and construction of the current Rochester library in the 1990s, died Wednesday at her residence in Charter House. She was 81.



Taylor was an administrator at the library for 26 years, starting in 1971. She was promoted to library director in 1982, and oversaw the planning and construction of the current library, which opened in 1995. She retired in 1997.

The library's auditorium, the Judith Keller Taylor Auditorium, is named after her.


Taylor, who was born in Champaign, Ill., was a member of the board of directors of Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center, NAMI Southeast Minnesota, the Rochester Rotary Club, and the Olmsted County Social Services advisory board.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes, Rochester. A complete obituary will be published in the Post-Bulletin.
