BRIEF: FYI announces free parenting class

LAS CRUCES, Apr 13, 2012 (Las Cruces Sun-News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- In recognition of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, a local Core Service Agency, Families and Youth, Inc., is offering a free two-hour "Becoming a Love and Logic Parent" presentation at 6 p.m. Thursday at the main FYI office, 1320 S. Solano Drive.

"Love and Logic is a system that not only works well for troubled children and youth, but is a terrific foundation for all families," said Lynn Winters, Love and Logic trainer. "It takes the heat off the situation, and allows parents to act logically and calmly, and consequently, kids react more openly to redirection." Seating is limited, so reservations are required. When leaving a voice message or email, state your full name, phone number and the number of attendees. You will be contacted to confirm your reservation.
