BRIEF: Five arrested in San Bernardino DUI checkpoint

Feb 14, 2012 (San Bernardino County Sun - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Police arrested five people at a driver's license checkpoint Friday in San Bernardino.

The eight-hour operation took place in the 1700 block of West Fifth Street.

Police arrested three people on suspicion of driving while under the influence and two on other charges, police said.

Officers ticketed 13 people who had suspended or revoked driver's licenses. Another 41 received citations because they were unlicensed, police said.

Police impounded 33 vehicles.
