BRIEF: City Operations Center lines restored
Feb 10, 2012 (Star-News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Power, Internet and phone lines have been restored at the city of Wilmington's Operations Center on River Road, according to a news release from the city.
A boom from a Cape Fear Public Utility Authority truck knocked down electrical and fiber optic lines in front of the center midday Thursday. In addition to closing down River Rood for much of the afternoon, the accident temporarily shut down the customer service phone lines to the city's Solid Waste, Streets and Stormwater services.
Crews were still working to restore connections to the city's traffic signal system, and expected to have them repaired by Friday afternoon, the release states. The repairs will not affect traffic lights throughout the city, which will operate normally, the release states.
