BRIEF: Caltrans warns of icy conditions on Highway 198

Caltrans is warning motorists about black ice and icy spots on Highway 198 from the junction of State Route 25 in Monterey County to the Monterey/Fresno County line.
Motorists should be especially cautious on Highway 198 just west of Mustang Summit and Priest Valley, Caltrans officials said.
Caltrans crews are spreading sand and other abrasive materials to improve traction, but motorists are advised to proceed with caution.
Electronic message signs have been posted to alert motorists as well.
Alternate routes suggested are Highways 152 and 46.
