BRIEF: BluePhoenix wins City Colleges of Chicago contract: The legacy software modernization solutions developer teamed with Synch-Solutions.

Legacy software modernization solutions developer BluePhoenix Solutions Ltd. (Nasdaq: BPHX; TASE: BPHX) and Synch-Solutions Inc. will jointly modernize older software systems for the City Colleges of Chicago. The company did not disclose the size of the contract.
The legacy systems modernization is part of general goal of US colleges to provide more efficient technology services. BluePhoenix re-hosted files from IBM Mainframe to UNIX, transformed an Oracle database residing on the UNIX platform, and carried out other programs.
BluePhoenix's share fell 6.6 percent yesterday on Nasdaq to $1.71, giving a market cap of $35 million. The share price has fallen nearly two-thirds since early September. The share fell 2.8 percent in early trading on the TASE today to NIS 7.
