BRIEF: BG woman, 55, charged for pointing gun at husband

Feb 14, 2012 (The Blade - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- BOWLING GREEN -- A Bowling Green woman who allegedly pointed a gun at her husband and threatened to shoot him if he did not give her his cell phone was arrested Monday night by city police.


Diana Sanchez Swartz, 55, is being held in the Wood County jail on charges of felonious assault and inducing panic. She was to be arraigned Tuesday morning in Bowling Green Municipal Court.

According to police reports, the couple had been out to dinner and gotten into an argument that continued at their home. Ms. Swartz allegedly pointed the loaded semi-automatic pistol at her own head before threatening her husband, Mark Swartz, 55, with the gun.


Police called for assistance from the Wood County Sheriff's special response team, but the team was canceled after police located Ms. Swartz inside her vehicle not far from the couple's Maple Street home.
