BRIEF: Appleton papermaker sells British unit

(Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The (KRT) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 4--The paper technology company Appleton said today it has sold its British subsidiary Bemrose Group Limited for an undisclosed amount.

Appleton said it has sold Bemrose to an affiliate of American Industrial Acquisition Corp., a private equity firm. Appleton announced in January that it would sell Bemrose, a producer of security-printed vouchers and payment cards, because it no longer fit Appleton's long-term strategy.


The Appleton-based, employee-owned company makes carbonless paper and other products.
