BRIEF: Amputees Across America make stop in Morgantown
Jul 11, 2009 (The Dominion Post - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
AJ Johnson, Joe Sapere and Doc Milligan pedaled into Morgantown on Friday morning and took a bike ride around the city with dozens of other cyclists from HEALTHSOUTH MountainView Regional Rehabilitation Hospital.
Johnson, Sapere and Milligan, all amputees, have traveled about 2,800 miles from Orange County, Calif., and will end their journey in Vineland, N.J. They left Tustin, Calif., on May 27 and expect to arrive in Vineland on July 23.
The trio is part of Amputees Across America -- a coast-to-coast bicycle trip -- and this is the third visit to HEALTHSOUTH in Morgantown.
HEALTHSOUTH employees and other cyclists from the area joined with Johnson, Sapere and Milligan for a ride up W.Va. 705 and Willowdale Road. The trip then returned to HEALTHSOUTH, to visit patients and eat lunch before continuing on.
