BrainMaps China to Add Preschool and Middle School Programs to Its Online-to-Offline (O2O) English Language Learning Model

With 75 learning centers in 24 cities across China, BrainMaps is helping thousands of children ages 5 to 12 quickly develop their proficiency in English, thanks to its innovative Online-to-Offline (O2O) blended learning model. Building on the success of the O2O model, which includes the use of the neuroscience-based Fast ForWord and Reading Assistant programs from Scientific Learning Corp. (OTC PINK:SCIL), BrainMaps is expanding its English language learning programs to preschool and middle school learners beginning in early 2018.

The BrainMaps program is based on the proven O2O model, which combines the online Fast ForWord and Reading Assistant programs with rich offline project-based instructional activities led by local English-speaking teachers in the learning centers. This blended learning approach helps students quickly build proficiency in English and the confidence to use English in academic and social settings.

Designed for children ages 3 to 5, BrainMaps' new preschol program will also include the use of innovative online apps from Kiko Labs, which develops neuroscience-based programs that target the skills for school success. These apps, which complement Scientific Learning's programs, focus on key cognitive skills including executive function and reasoning - skills chosen for their importance in young children's development and learning capacity.

In addition, BrainMaps will introduce a new O2O solution for children ages 12 to 15. This middle school program will be aligned to curriculum standards in China to support students' rapid advancement through the Chinese educational system.

"Our new efforts to develop high quality O2O programs for preschoolers and middle school students means we can offer a continuum of services to support their English fluency efforts throughout students' school years," said Rick Lee, CEO of BrainMaps. "Our franchise operators across China are thrilled to have the opportunity to engage with young students and their parents on a long-term, multiyear basis."
