Bourse vows to spur economic role [Gulf Daily News (Bahrain)]


(Gulf Daily News (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MANAMA: The new Bahrain Bourse board held its first meeting.

It thanked His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Economic Development Board chairman, promising to further develop the bourse and boost its role in the economic development of the kingdom, as well as increasing the bourse's competitiveness to attract investments.



Board members appointed Yousuf Abdulla Humood as chairman and Marwan Khalid Tabbara as vice-chairman.

The executive committee and the audit committee were also formed, in which the executive, remuneration and nomination committee includes, Afnan Al Zayani, Ayman Tawfeeq Almoayed, Yaser Ebrahim Humaidan and Rana Ebrahim Faqihi. Audit, risk and corporate governance committee includes Fouad A Rahman Rashid, Nabeel Khalid Kanoo and Mohamed Ahmed Hasan.


The previous board's achievements focused on developing all work aspects at the bourse, specifically its infrastructure and administrative and technical restructure in an institutional method.

The newly appointed board is looking to complete the execution of the projects of the strategic plan of the bourse that will clearly affect all parties related to the capital markets sector, including investors, brokers, and issuers of securities.

The newly-appointed board includes members Yousuf Abdulla Humood, Afnan Al Zayani, Yaser Ebrahim Humaidan, Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, Rana Ebrahim Faqihi, Mohamed Ahmed Hasan, Fouad A Rahman Rashid, Marwan Khalid Tabbara and Ayman Tawfeeq Almoayed.

The new board is appointed for a three-year term.
