Bolton Foundation Announces Second Annual "Granting Holiday Wishes"

The Bolton Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Pasadena-based insurance broker Bolton & Company, is partnering once again with A Noise Within for the return of "Granting Holiday Wishes," a special event hosted for local children in need.

Now in its second year, "Granting Holiday Wishes" invites approximately 250 guests to a luncheon and matinee performance of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." The event takes place at A Noise Within, a performing arts theater in Pasadena that puts on the production, and concludes with a toy giveaway and surprise visit from Santa Claus for the children in attendance.

The Bolton Foundation has selected five nonprofits to participate in this year's event. Lincoln Training Center, Boy's Republic, Danny's Farm, Hopeful Hearts Foundation and Ronald McDonald House of Los Angeles will each invite selected guests to attend. These organizations will also receive a grant from the Bolton Foundation in support of their operations.

Bolton Chief Operating Officer and Foundation Chairman Mike Morey said the annual event encapsulates what the Bolton Foundation represents at its core.

"This is about family, community and that warm feeling we all get when we see someone's face light up," said Morey. "'Granting Holiday Wishes' serves as a moment of relief for those who deal with a lot of hardship throughout the year. It's also about supporting those organizations that support the community, and we're very fortunate to work with A Noise Within to make this magical event a reality."

The event's debut last year drew approximately 250 guests representing Bienvenidos, Hillsides, Foothll Family Service, LA Inner City Arts and Five Acres. Each nonprofit organization received a grant from the Bolton Foundation.

"Granting Holiday Wishes" is facilitated by the Bolton Foundation and volunteers from Bolton & Company's staff, family and friends. Throughout the month of November, Bolton runs an internal drive to collect toys for the event. Last year, the event provided close to 150 toys to children during the giveaway.

Recipient organizations are selected based on their close alignment with grant funding priority areas as defined by the Bolton Foundation, including education, youth services, community development and multiculturalism. Those chosen must be a 501c(3) organization with valid tax ID, located within California and use the grant as either seed money for startup programs or funding for existing programs.

Funding for these grants is provided through the year-round fundraising efforts of the Bolton Foundation and its partners.

The Bolton Foundation was established to formalize Bolton & Company's commitment to making a difference in the community. To date, Bolton supports more than 200 nonprofit organizations, and strives to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in California.
