Boeing to Acquire Inmedius to Enhance Information Services Capabilities

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 01 May 2012 Release date- 27042012 - SEATTLE - Boeing [NYSE: BA] today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Inmedius, a provider of software applications and services for managing and sharing information and learning content.

Inmedius will be integrated into Boeing subsidiary Continental DataGraphics (CDG) in support of Boeing's Digital Airline strategy.

The acquisition will enable Boeing to offer an expanded portfolio of technical services and solutions for aerospace, defense and manufacturing markets. Inmedius solutions will also bring new efficiencies to technical content management across Boeing's commercial and defense programs.


The acquisition contributes to Boeing's Digital Airline strategy of helping customers use information, airplane technology and industry-first solutions to make the most well-informed decisions possible for maximizing efficiency, profitability and environmental performance.

Inmedius has approximately 75 employees and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, with additional field office locations in Maryland, Colorado, the U.K. and India. It has a diverse customer base drawn from commercial aerospace and defense businesses, including Boeing, as well as other manufacturing and service industries. Inmedius President and CEO Gary L. Schaffer will continue to lead the business, reporting to CDG President and CEO David Malmo.

Inmedius is privately held and the terms of the transaction are not being disclosed. The transaction is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2012.
