bluArc Announces Free Migration to Hosted Business Phone Services for Primus and Allstream Clients

bluArc, Canada's #1 hosted business phone company announced today that it will be offering free migration to its Hosted Business Phone (News - Alert) platform for any Primus customer wishing to change. The announcement comes as Primus garnered court protection, seeking approval of a plan to sell its business to a U.S. telecom provider. Furthermore, Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. announced that it has sold Allstream to U.S. fibre-optic network operator Zayo Group (News - Alert) Holdings Inc.

Primus (the company has experienced tremendous debt obligations and steadily declining revenue over the past several years) has won court protection from its creditors and is seeking approval of a plan to sell its business; thus, leaving more than 23,000 small- and medium-sized Canadian business clients to look for new and better services. Additionally, Canadian telecom company Allstream - a division of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. - has been sold to U.S. fibre-optic network operator Zayo Group Holdings Inc.

Therefore, due to these two major announcements, bluArc is offering to migrate any Primus or Allstream business client to its hosted business phone and internet service free of charge, commencing immediately.

"These two announcements came as a shock to the Canadian business community," commented Jay Swayze, President and CEO of bluArc. "With so many businesses having to seek out more stable services, we wanted to ensure that peope had an easy option. As well, we also wanted to ensure that the migration was free to further reduce the stress associated with the announcements. In a time in which we see so much upheaval, it is paramount that companies have a choice in their business phone service provider - and bluArc is that choice, offering a stable service. Stability and fairness to our customers are what matter most to us. We are proud to be a Canadian company with a long-term history of doing business with Canadians. We believe providing a durable and established service is important not only for the Canadian business community, but also for our economy."
