Big Data Drives New Architecture - Anue Systems' CTO to Address at Interop 2012

AUSTIN, Texas --(Business Wire)--

Anue Systems, a worldwide industry leader of network monitoring and test solutions, announced that its CTO, Chip Webb, will present during Interop's (News - Alert) Enterprise Cloud Summit - Big Data and will address how the network monitoring switch helps resolve the monitoring challenges facing Big Data companies.

During his presentation, Big Data, Big Monitoring, Mr. Webb will answer questionsfrom Jeremy Edberg, lead cloud reliability engineer at NetFlix. The session is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. PDT in Lagoon D at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

With Big Data, the importance of application, network and security monitoring escalates, and IT teams have to use a number of technologies to proactively monitor these applications. The Anue Systems' network monitoring switch, designed to increase visibility, sits between the data center production network and the monitoring and security tools to aggregate and filter data from across the network, ensuring that each monitoring tool gets the exact data it needs.

"Big Data is not just a big network or high speed links," said Chip Webb, CTO for Anue Systems. "Big Data is highly parallel, highly distributed applications connected by high capacity networks. In this environment, monitoring tools need the broad vantage point provided by network monitoring switches so that they can see whatever they need, whenever they need it and wherever it is on their networks. The network monitoring switch enables a large number of monitoring tools to be connected to a network so that they have better visibility and reduced operational cost."

Mr. Webb has more than 20 years of experience in the design and architecture of high-speed networking products. Prior to co-founding Anue Systems, he was a distinguished member of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories, where he led teams developing fiber optic networks, HDTV and wireless communications. Mr. Webb has co-authored five technical papers and has been granted 17 patents, with eight pending.
