BATM subsidiary wins awards for World's Best Carrier Ethernet & ATCA Products

Dec 17, 2012 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- BATM Advanced Communications Ltd (LSE: BVC; TASE: BATM), a leading provider of real-time technologies for the networked telecoms and medical laboratory equipment markets, is pleased to announce that Telco Systems ("Telco"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, has been recognized with multiple industry awards, primarily the ground-breaking T-Metro 8000 cloud gateway and service aggregator, and for its T-ATCA product line of 40G and 10G AdvancedTCA blades. These solutions are used globally by carriers, wholesale providers and ATCA system integrators to provide state-of-the-art multi-service MPLS/Ethernet networks that offer mobile backhaul, business Ethernet and cloud networking services.

Telco won the Best AdvancedTCA Unique Customer Application with the T-Metro 8000 cloud gateway and service aggregation platform that was launched earlier this year. This is the first open architecture switching platform with best in class carrier Ethernet/MPLS density, scalability and price performance for cloud, mobile backhaul, and business services. Telco was the only company to win this prestigious AdvancedTCA award two years in a row. Last year, the company won Best Software Product award for its BiNOX operating system which powers the Company's Carrier Ethernet solutions, ATCA switch blade line and the newly announced line interface cards.

Telco has also been selected to receive a Mobility Tech Zone Product of the Year Award for its T-ATCA blade line of 10G and 40G ATCA Ethernet Blade Switches. Mobility Tech Zone is the leading website dedicated to the mobile broadband industry. "Telco Systems has proven its commitment to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace. Mobility Tech Zone is delighted to present a Product of the Year Award to Telco Systems for their T-ATCA switching blade product line," said Rich Tehrani, CEO at TMC.

These two awards come only a couple of months after Telco Systems was recognized to be one of Top 100 Companies by Broadband Communities Magazine - a select list that celebrates companies making the most significant contributions towards building a fiber-connected world.

Dr Zvi Marom, Chief Executive Officer of BATM, said: "We're delighted to have received these awards, which demonstrate the strength of our Telco offering. By adopting our MPLS network technologies, our customers are able to build a differentiated solution that allows them to offer their clients new and innovative services whilst enhancing levels of capacity, scalability and reliability. In addition, this can be achieved at only a fraction of the cost of traditional transport models."
