Azimuth Systems Announces New 802.11n Certification Test Suite

(Market Wire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) ACTON, MA, October 2 / MARKET WIRE/ --

Azimuth Systems Inc., the leading provider of
Wi-Fi engineering test equipment, today introduced the new AzCert Wi-Fi
802.11n Certification Test Suite, a fully automated implementation of the
Wi-Fi Alliance 802.11n draft 2.0 certification test plan. Product
vendors, device manufacturers and semiconductor vendors can use this
automation solution to pre-test their products and streamline the
certification process by enabling the completion of pre-certification
testing in hours, rather than days or weeks.

802.11n device certification is a complex and time-consuming process --
which is more complicated than previous 802.11 certification programs --
because in addition to new 802.11n-specific test cases, Wi-Fi Alliance
Certification of 802.11n draft 2.0 devices includes tests from the earlier
WPA2 baseline and WMM certifications. The AzCert 802.11n Certification Test
Suite fully automates the entire test plan and includes test tools that
enable users to:

-- Accurately pre-certify access point and client devices in a manner
that mirrors the Wi-Fi Alliance test process;
-- Significantly reduce test time and costs by completing pre-
certification testing in just hours, rather than days or even weeks;
-- Maximize test efficiency by enabling the automation of all aspects of
certification testing;
-- Run pre-certification as a nightly regression test rather than a final
QA test;
-- Reliably duplicate test results at multiple locations.

The advanced automation script included in the new AzCert Wi-Fi 802.11n
Certification Test Suite integrates into the standard Wi-Fi Alliance test
setup and runs on the WFA-defined over the air configuration. All tests are
controlled and configured by DIRECTOR(TM) II, Azimuth's second-generation
test executive software that provides a central command point for managing
tests, collecting data and analyzing results. This allows the entire series
of over 100 test cases to be run together using the full configuration, or
incrementally using a partial configuration. Additionally, the results of
each test can be saved until all tests are complete -- dramatically saving
time by allowing the users to retest only the portions that previously
failed.

"Wi-Fi Certification is a critical component to ensuring the rapid growth
of Wi-Fi-enabled devices based on the 802.11n draft 2.0 specification,"
said Graham Celine, senior director of marketing at Azimuth Systems. "The
New AzCert 802.11n Certification Test Suite helps our customers to
guarantee that their products will meet the stringent Wi-Fi Alliance
Certification requirements before submitting them to an authorized test lab
for final testing -- saving time, resources and money while enabling the
delivery of higher quality products to market more quickly."

In addition to automating the time consuming tasks of configuring test bed
devices, wireless sniffer and security servers, the AzCert Wi-Fi 802.11n
Certification Test Suite also starts and runs tests automatically, as well
as analyzes and interprets the results to determine if the test meets Wi-Fi
Alliance pass/fail criteria. This reduces the operator involvement and
automates the complex task of learning, interpreting and running the
procedure manually to produce higher quality products in a faster
time-to-market.
