Azaleos Ranks as Challenger in UCaaS Magic Quadrant

Nov 30, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Azaleos Corp., a private cloud services company for managed Lync, managed SharePoint, and managed Exchange, announced that it was positioned by Gartner Inc. as a Challenger in the Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications as a Service, North America for 2012.

In related news, Avanade announced on November 13th that it plans to acquire Azaleos to expand its leadership position in managed services for Microsoft communication and collaboration technologies.

According to the report, Gartner analysts evaluate UCaaS providers based on the breadth, quality and overall maturity of their applications, processes, tools and procedures that enhance individual, group and enterprise communications. Ultimately, UCaaS providers are judged on their ability and success in capitalizing on their vision.

"We view Azaleos' position in the Challengers Quadrant as proof that we are one of the few vendors that can provide the full Lync feature set including IM/Presence, video conferencing, unified messaging, mobility and VoIP," said Scott Gode, vice president of product management and marketing for Azaleos. "Customers choose Azaleos for our unique expertise in delivering a feature-complete Lync-based UCaaS solution with tight integration to SharePoint and Exchange using a secure, private-cloud or hybrid infrastructure." Azaleos said Gartner's expectations for UCaaS in 2013 are twofold. UCaaS will start supporting global deployments spanning multiple regions. Many of the UCaaS participants in this Magic Quadrant already have infrastructure in North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific as a first step. Second, the Fortune 1000 UCaaS users will adopt the service across broad swaths of the organization.

According to a release, Azaleos has achieved and maintained its position in managed services through aggressive investments in research, development and new services. The company recently exceeded the 1 million seats under management milestone and closed several marquee enterprise accounts for its Exchange, SharePoint and Lync service.
