Axonista Appoints Former AOL President Dermot McCormack to Board


DUBLIN, Dec. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Former AOL President of Video and Studios Dermot McCormack will join the Axonista board as a Non-Executive Director.

Axonista, the leading interactive video solutions provider, has today announced that it has appointed former AOL President of Video and Studios, Dermot McCormack to its board. McCormack will join Axonista's board as a Non-Executive Director to provide valuable expertise and experience as the company extends its footprint in the US market.  

McCormack has an extensive background across emerging digital content and online video technologies, having held numerous roles with leading content providers and brands. In his most recent role as President of Video and Studios at AOL, Dermot led original content creation, studio management and AOL's video and OTT business across a wide variety of brands, including 14 AolOn Channels, The Huffington Post, AOL, Techcrunch, Engadget and AolOn Network.

McCormack's experience also includes senior roles at Viacom where he drove all non-linear brand initiatves for MTV, VH1, CMT and Logo, creating and implementing a vision and strategy for enabling these culture-defining brands to maintain leadership positions in today's changing media landscape. He also led the creation of a new digital revenue growth department at Cablevision, driving the growth of the cable operator's interactive advertising and commerce businesses.



In his non-executive capacity, McCormack will strengthen Axonista's board with a wealth of knowledge and deep insight into online video across the US market, and will help to guide the company's strategic business plans moving forward. Dermot will also play a critical role in forging new strategic partnerships for Axonista in the U.S, as the company continues to grow.
