Auto parts maker to employ 150 in Kentucky

(Associated Press Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) — Whitehall Industries has broken ground on a facility in Paducah, Ky. that will employ 150 people making aluminum components for the automotive industry.

Gov. Steve Beshear's office says the company plans to invest nearly $13 million in the project. Beshear attended the groundbreaking Tuesday.

In a statement, Beshear's office said Whitehall was established in 1974, making precision components for the copier industry. It expanded into aluminum and began making automotive sunroof tracks. Michigan-based SRS Industries LLC acquired Whitehall Industries in 2010.

The state has approved tax incentives up to $1.5 million for the project.
