Australian Department of Defence Selects Titus Labs Email Classification Solutions for 100,000 Users

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA, July 22 / MARKET WIRE/ --

Titus Labs Inc., the leading provider of email and document classification software today announced that the Australian Department of Defence has selected Titus Labs Message Classification (TMC), for 100,000 users, to force the classification of all emails in Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Web Access (OWA), and Windows Mobile.

The Australian Department of Defence selected the Titus Labs software to protect sensitive government data contained in the millions of emails sent by Australian Defence. The solution adds value to the Microsoft infrastructure by forcing users to consistently classify all emails in compliance with the Australian Email Protective Marking Standard.

"Once data classification is established it can act as a foundation for information-centric security marrying the right level of security (i.e., encryption, tight access controls, rights management, auditing, etc.) to the most valuable data," said Jon Oltsik, Senior Analyst for Enterprise Strategy Group, in his white paper titled The Time Has Come for Information-Centric Security.

"Our Worldwide Public Sector customers now have the ability to force their personnel to classify messages and help protect data integrity," said Tim Bloechl, Managing Director, Worldwide Public Safety and National Security at Microsoft. "Titus Labs offers an outstanding secure messaging solution for data loss prevention."

Titus Labs Message Classification is an email classification and marking tool that will assist Australian Defence in the protection of sensitive information to prevent inadvertent data loss and to meet regulatory compliance. Australian Defence is migrating from its in-house developed software to the Titus Labs, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution, providing full support for future data classification and overall information lifecycle management strategies.

"The ability of the Titus Labs solutions to handle more complex military classification was critical to Australian Defence" said Rick Patricio, Regional Sales Manager, Asia Pacific, Titus Labs. "Titus Labs Message Classification offers a cost-effective, proven classification solution that is utilized by over 35 Australian government departments and agencies to protect data and ensure compliance."
