Aug Samsung's China Mobile Phone Market Share Fell to 16%


(Sinocast Computers & Electronics Beat (China) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BEIJING, October 22, SinoCast -- In addition to Samsung, the other four of China's top five mobile phone brands by market share in China in the first eight months of this year are Chinese companies, such as CoolPad, Lenovo, Huawei and VIVO.



This August, Samsung's market share dropped to 16% from 20%, but Samsung still ranked the first by shipments in China, followed by CoolPad, Lenovo, Huawei and VIVO.

In the first eight months of this year, China's mobile phone sales continued to drop, the proportion of 4G mobile phones started to grow significantly, but the proportion of contract mobile phones of operators started to fall. In August, monthly shipment of mobile phones in China hit 26.23 million units, falling 5% month on month and 20% year on year; the number of 4G mobile phones sold hit 7.13 million, growing 21% month on month and accounting for 27.2% of total shipment.
