Atos Origin Partners with Apriso to Deliver Manufacturing Operations Management Excellence

PARIS & LONG BEACH, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Atos Origin, an international information technology services company, and Apriso, a leading provider of adaptive manufacturing solutions, today announced the formation of a new partnership for Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM). By creating this alliance, Atos Origin can now implement Apriso FlexNet(R), a software-based Operations Execution System (OES), to address the growing need by manufacturers for better real-time visibility and control over their global operations. Apriso FlexNet synchronizes plant-level operations with warehouse, maintenance and quality processes to effectively fill the gap between Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and automation equipment systems.

Specific customer benefits include:

-- Enhanced agility across global manufacturing operations

-- Accelerated integration between plant floor automation systems, manufacturing operations and enterprise, business planning applications

-- Expanded throughput by seamlessly coordinating internal and external production, warehouse, quality, maintenance and other operations processes

The partnership is actively engaged with one of the world's largest truck manufacturers. Atos Origin will work with Apriso to design a set of standardized, best practice business processes for seamlessly integrating manufacturing operations across existing plant automation systems. Immediate benefits will include improved agility and operational performance when responding to changing market and demand conditions.

Apriso's OES solution provides functionality beyond that of a traditional Manufacturing Execution System (MES), bringing business systems and plant floor operations together to execute the vision of a "Perfect Plant." Successful execution of this vision will enable the truck manufacturer to globally synchronize and coordinate data flows, achieving expanded visibility and far tighter control over their distributed manufacturing processes.

"We are pleased to offer the Apriso OES solution as an alternative to traditional MES solutions for those clients who seek a wider scope of operations performance improvement," said Gene Wells, vice president of consulting and systems integration, Atos Origin North America. "Working with Apriso allows us to establish highly collaborative operations environments while enabling the acceleration of our client's ERP deployments - a double win for our customers."

"We believe Atos Origin's experience in manufacturing and supply chain automation integration will greatly benefit our customers, providing a faster return on investment from each of their manufacturing operations systems," explains Eric Green, vice president solution strategy at Apriso. "The implementation of our software platform by Atos Origin's team can provide a seamless delivery mechanism to help manufacturers achieve operational excellence across their global production and supply chain operations."
