ASSOCHAM SEEKS ZERO IMPORT DUTY ON CAPITAL GOODS (the chamber has also called for zero duty on raw materials)

(India Business Insight Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (Assocham) has asked the Government of India to withdraw import duty on all capital goods. The chamber has asked the Government to withdraw customs duty on goods used for telecom equipment, telecom shelter, power conditioner and sheet metal. Assocham has also called for zero duty on raw materials and components used in the manufacture of electronic items.
