Appointment of Director

(Marketwire (UK Regulatory) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ECOVISTA PLC APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR Ecovista PLC ("Ecovista" or the "Company") announces the appointment of Kenneth ("Ken") Jones as chief executive officer as of 30 September 2014.

Ken has been practicing as an Architect as Partner or Sole Practitioner since 1977 and for the latter half of that period has also been involved in property development as a Director or Project Manager of development companies.

Ken was Architect and Project Manager for a number of projects started in Manchester in the late 1980's, converting several historic 19th C cotton mills and warehouses to 750 apartments and other mixed uses with a total value of GBP75m. These projects were instrumental in kick starting the redevelopment of the inner city area that has transformed Manchester. In the same period, he designed and provided key project management support for a 1,000 bedspace student accommodation project. The scheme was 400,000sq.ft. mix of new build and mill conversion with a budget of GBP22m, completed in 13 months and GBP3m under budget. He also obtained GBP3.6m of government grant support for the scheme.

Ken subsequently developed Cavendish Mill in Ashton-under-Lyne, converting the mill to 174 flats for Sanctuary Housing Association using BES funding. This led to the formation of a development company that developed a number of mill conversion projects, including Victoria Mill in Miles Platting, 250,000sq.ft. of mixed use space with a GBP10.5m budget and for which he obtained a grant of GBP3.5m, completed on schedule and GBP1m under budget.

Ken has also been involved in developing affordable housing schemes in the Baltic States, where he was a partner in a development company that bought seven sites with planning for 2,400 homes. The first development was about to kick off in 2007 when the credit crunch hit.

Ken has since specialised in small scale housing schemes in the UK, both new build and conversions and providing consultancy services on larger schemes involving listed buildings. He is currently providing development consultancy services for several overseas housing developments including First Nation communities in Canada, 2,500 bedspace worker accommodation in North Dakota and a retirement village in Portugal.
