APconnections Reports Strong Q1 2012 Growth amid a Mixed Market for Bandwidth Shapers

APconnections, an innovation-driven technology company that delivers best-in-class network traffic management solutions, is pleased to announce a strong start to fiscal year 2012. For our main product family, the NetEqualizer, sales revenues were up solidly year-over-year and quarter-over-quarter. In addition, sales were spread broadly across our key verticals, and our 2012 pipeline remains strong.

Unlike many of our competitors, we sell the NetEqualizer (News - Alert) direct to customers and prospects, enabling us to offer highly competitive pricing on our bandwidth shaping appliances. We are uniquely positioned to take advantage of a continuing trend that we have seen over the last several years, a decline in bandwidth costs. As bandwidth costs decline, customers are more price-senstive on bandwidth shaping solutions. This is creating a strong opportunity for APconnections, while it is challenging many of our competitors, as evidenced in their mixed financial results.

In Q1 2012, APconnections also announced the release of an Intrusion (News - Alert) Prevention System (IPS) appliance, the NetGladiator. The NetGladiator builds upon APconnections extensive experience in the network optimization space and targets a key component of any security solution, protecting web applications from intrusion attempts (hackers). APconnections is working with premier security experts and white knights (friendly hackers) to perform security audits and to customize the implementation.
