That's part of the latest outlook from forecasters in a survey being released Monday by the National Association for Business Economics, also know by its acronym NABE.
Wall Street set to follow global sell-offNEW YORK (AP) _ Financial markets around the world had a rocky start Monday after European governments took steps to limit the damage from the growing global financial crisis. U.S. stocks appeared headed for a steep drop at the opening, and the credit markets remained under strain. Global markets sold off. In Asia, the Nikkei 225 closed 4.25 percent lower. Europe's stock markets also declined, with the FTSE-100 down 3.32 percent, Germany's DAX down 5.72 percent, and France's CAC-40 down 6.31 percent. And, major U.S. indexes were ready to follow suit. Dow Jones industrial average futures fell 264, or 2.61 percent, to 10,100. Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 29.60, or 2.66 percent, to 1,078.80, while Nasdaq 100 futures fell 35.50, or 2.40 percent, to 1,442.00.

(AP) _ The McCain and Obama presidential campaigns traded accusations of mudslinging Monday in the wake of new ads dredging up infamous events from 20, 30, even 40 years ago. Nancy Pfotenhauer, an adviser to the McCain campaign, said it's "absolutely essential" that Americans hear not only about his plans for the future but also "about the decision they have to make about these two individuals." She said she thought that commercials that raise new questions about Obama's associations "have struck a nerve" with the Democrat.

Simpson guilty in his armed robbery trial say secret audio tapes and surveillance video swayed them more than witness accounts. Seven panelists who attended an extraordinary news conference Sunday concluded that without the recordings the prosecution might not have won convictions.
Northern California bus crash leaves 10 deadWILLIAMS, Calif. (AP) _ A casino-bound charter bus flipped over about 10 miles from its destination, ejecting passengers and crushing others as it rolled into a ditch. Ten people died and dozens of others were injured. California Highway Patrol officials said the bus crashed at about 6:10 p.m. Sunday on a rural road near Williams _ about 60 miles north of Sacramento _ as it headed to Colusa Casino Resort from Sacramento.

French researchers Francoise Barre-Sinoussi and Luc Montagnier were cited for their discovery of human immunodeficiency virus, or HIV, in 1983.

Miley Cyrus celebrates Sweet 16 at DisneylandANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ Miley Cyrus' 16th birthday party was more boisterous than sweet. Cyrus celebrated the hallmark birthday at an over-the-top Disneyland celebration Sunday _ even though she doesn't actually turn 16 until Nov. 23. The theme park was closed for the supersized soiree, which included a four-song performance by the teen queen and a fireworks display above Sleeping Beauty Castle and 16 giant inflatable candles. "Miley is really hard to surprise," her father Billy Ray Cyrus said at the event.
Both American League series play game 4 todayCHICAGO (AP) _ The American League Division Series resume today with the Tampa Bay Rays playing the White Sox in Chicago and the Los Angeles Angels facing the Red Sox in Boston. Both are game 4 in the best-of-5 series with the Rays and Red Sox leading 2 games to 1. The National League Championship Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies begins on Thursday. The Los Angeles Angels stayed alive in the American League Division Series after winning a five-hour, 19-minute marathon 5-4 game over Boston on Erick Aybar's run-scoring bloop single in the 12th inning.
