Their series is the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program, and it recently surpassed "Gunsmoke" as the longest-running American primetime scripted entertainment program.
Father of Smith's daughter set to finish testimonyLOS ANGELES (AP) _ The father of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter is set to finish his testimony about the late model and reality star's involvement with prescription drugs and the role of two doctors and her former boyfriend in her medication. Larry Birkhead was under cross-examination by the lawyer for Smith's psychiatrist when a preliminary hearing recessed for the weekend. He is scheduled to conclude his testimony Monday as prosecutors prepare to present medical evidence.
Elvis' hair sells for $15K at Chicago auctionCHICAGO (AP) _ A clump of hair believed to have been trimmed from Elvis Presley's head when he joined the Army in 1958 has sold for $15,000 at a Chicago auction house. Also among the 200 Elvis-related items up for grabs at the Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Chicago on Sunday was a shirt that once belonged to the King which sold for $52,000.
Adults lead 'Wild Things' $32.5M box-office rumpusLOS ANGELES (AP) _ "Where the Wild Things Are" proved a bigger hit with adult audiences than family crowds as the adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved children's book debuted at No. 1 with $32.5 million. Moviegoers 18 and older accounted for 43 percent of the audience, while parents with children made up 27 percent, according to distributor Warner Bros.
Picking a fight: White House vs Fox NewsNEW YORK (AP) _ President Barack Obama's communications director says it was Fox News Channel, not the White House, that picked a fight. Yet it was Anita Dunn's words during a CNN interview last week, saying Fox is like "a wing of the Republican Party," that ignited one of the most unusual verbal volleys between a presidential administration and journalists since Vice President Spiro Agnew complained during the Nixon years about the "nattering nabobs of negativism."

Artist admits using key AP photo for 'HOPE' posterPITTSBURGH (AP) _ Artist Shepard Fairey, who recently admitted concealing a key mistake in a lawsuit over his use of an Associated Press photo in his famous Barack Obama "HOPE" poster, said Saturday that the error should not be viewed as "premeditated and sinister." Fairey was at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh on Saturday night for the opening of an exhibit of his works _ including the 4-foot-by-8-foot Obama poster. He drew a chuckle from the crowd during a question and answer session when he said, "I am learning from my mistakes, if everybody's been keeping up with the news."

It was all fantasy and fun at the Big Apple Comic-Con, which runs through Sunday with appearances by sci-fi and B-list stars, as well as big names in sports.
