Anoto Digital Pen and Paper Healthcare Applications to Be Presented at the TEPR 2008 Health Information Technology Conference

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BOSTON, MA, May 7 / MARKET WIRE/ --

Anoto Group (STKM: ANOT), the inventor of Anoto
Digital Pen and Paper technology, gains incredible momentum in the
healthcare sector as evidenced by the five sessions where renowned
healthcare experts will demonstrate unique Digital Pen and Paper
applications at the 24th Annual TEPR (Towards the Electronic Patient
Record) Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on May 19-21, 2008. Anoto
and Halfpenny Technologies will be showcasing the Digital Pen and Paper at
booth 1117.

TEPR sessions covering emergency and long-term care will be given by Dr.
Robert Rothstein, medical Director of Bethesda Medical Associates in
Washington, D.C., and past Director of the American Board of Emergency
Medicine; Siobhan Sharkey, Managing Director and Principal of Health
Management Strategies; and Sandra Hudak, Project Director for several
AHRQ-funded projects integrating Health Information Technology (HIT) and
quality improvement in nursing homes.

Robert Rothstein's presentation entitled "Curing Data Entry Problems in the
ER" will be held in two different tracks: Monday, May 19 from 10:15-10:45am
in Track 2E (New Solutions for Emergency Departments) and again from
12:00-12:30pm in Track 3V (Information Capture).

Dr. Rothstein will illustrate how Bethesda Emergency Associates at Suburban
Hospital is using a Digital Pen and Paper charting solution called
BartCharts to substantially improve workflow, accuracy of patient medical
records, and quality of care delivered. Using familiar pen on paper
charts, BartCharts enables patient information to be electronically
captured, verified and uploaded to the hospital's EHR system.

Sandra Hudak's presentation on "Capturing Clinical Documentation in Nursing
Homes: Lessons Learned" will occur on Monday, May 19th from 9:45-10:25am in
Track 2V (Information Capture: Selecting the Most Efficient and Easiest
Method for Getting Data into the EMR).

Siobhan Sharkey and Sandra Hudak will co-present two sessions on their
topic "On-Time Quality Improvement in Long Term Care: Health IT and
Workflow Redesign Improve Clinical Outcomes in Nursing Homes." The first
session will occur on Tuesday, May 20th from 8:45-9:30am in Track 4G
(Operational and Quality
Improvement Achieving Outcomes), and repeated from 10:50-11:25am in Track
5D (Quality Improvement with EMR and IT).

Working with more than 30 nursing homes around the country, including 16 in

CA, in several AHRQ-funded projects: "Nursing Home IT: Optimal Medication
and Care Delivery," and "On-Time Quality Improvement in Long-Term Care,"
Siobhan Sharkey and Sandra Hudak share their experience in working with new
methods of Health Information Technology used to capture CNA documentation
in nursing homes and generate reports for clinical decision making. Using
technology like Digital Pen and Paper and redesigned CNA documentation,
which incorporates best practice elements for early detection and
prevention, nursing homes have reduced the presence of pressure ulcers by
33% and reduced inefficiencies. Additionally, they will describe how the
redesigned clinical workflow increased front-line staff accountability and
thoroughness and supported a multi-disciplinary team approach to resident
care planning and delivery.
