American Systems Awarded Connections Prime Contract

CHANTILLY, Va. --(Business Wire)-- May 30, 2006 -- American Systems, an employee-owned company with more than 30 years of Federal sector experience, is now a prime contractor on the Connections contract. Connections is the GSA's one-stop shop for all federal government telecommunications infrastructure needs. Now, Federal agencies can benefit from the professional expertise and value that American Systems can provide with either the flexibility of self-service without GSA contract services or with GSA assisted procurement. What's more, with Connections, agencies can source via a mature procurement vehicle with the confidence of no potential contract protest.

"We're quite pleased to be a Connections prime contractor," says Byron Johns, Vice President of Federal Services at American Systems. "As one of the few prime-contractors working in all three procurement categories American Systems is an attractive choice for all federal agencies to consider when in need of customized solutions and/or support services associated with any office building, campus, or base environment telecommunications upgrade. In addition," says Johns, "in the existing environment where personnel with security clearances are at a premium, we stand ready with cleared professionals ready to deliver their expertise with customized solutions and operations support. When you add in the commitment that only employee-owners can deliver and the more than 30 years of Federal sector experience that American Systems brings to the table, we believe that we're the logical choice for agencies seeking to stay current with next generation wired and wireless networks for voice, data and video."

The General Services Administration (GSA) Connections contract is an acquisition multiple award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, single Government-Wide Contract (GWAC) for telecommunications infrastructure equipment and solutions in support of any office building, campus, base and government operations. For more information on the three contract categories or the Connections contract in general visit www.GSA.gov/connections

For more information on how American Systems can deliver in all three categories on the Connections contract and pricing information, visit www.AmericanSystems.com/Connections or contact Byron Johns at 703.968.5264.
