Amazon Japan Starts Buying Used Video Game Software [Jiji Press English News Service]

(Jiji Press English News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Tokyo, May 7 (Jiji Press)--Amazon Japan K.K., a unit of U.S. online retail giant Amazon.com Inc., said Monday it has started a service to buy used video game software over its Web site.

Amazon Japan offers to buy some 7,000 titles at present. The firm collects software from sellers for free, sets purchase prices within 24 hours and pays with Amazon gift certificates.

The maximum purchase prices are listed on the new service's special site. Sellers can specify when the software they want to sell should be collected.

The service is not available to those under 18, or those who are high school students or younger.

Amazon Japan officials said the new service has few rivals at present in Japan.END (c) 2012 ProQuest Information and Learning Company; All Rights Reserved.
