A.M. BestTV: Mutual Insurers Look to Make Oldest Insurance Format New Again

In this A.M.BestTV episode, issues including digitalization and the quest for talent are on the minds of mutual insurers as they prepare to gather in London for the annual conference of the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF). The ICMIF conference, which takes place October 17-20, 2017, is the only global representative body of the cooperative and mutual insurance sector.

"ICMIF tries to give chief executive officers (CEO) the full leadership perspective strategies that might work in their businesses," said Shaun Tarbuck, chief executive, ICMIF.

"This year's conference is centered on digitization. Those challenges have jumped to No. 1 for CEOs. Regulation a couple of years ago was No. 1, but now it is digitalization."

Tarbuck also highlighted the role that millennials will play at this year's conference.

"For the first time, ICMIF is having a full program for young leaders," he said. "Millennials will be featured on stage, and they are actually participating significantly in the event itself."

Full video coverage of the ICMIF conference will be available, including exclusive executive interviews. Videos will be available at http://www.ambest.tv/icmif17 after the start of the conference.
