AHA Announces DuroStream DS1 WAN Optimization Appliance for Protecting Critical Data Transmissions Against Packet LossMay 26, 2016--AHA Products Group announces the release of its DuroStream DS1 WAN Optimization appliance. For system architects designing systems with streaming or time-sensitive data that must operate over unreliable networks and are unsatisfied with the throughput of TCP or other protocols due to packet loss, DuroStream DS1 provides a resilient, full-duplex, point-to-point, layer 2 or layer 3 survivable tunnel that dynamically adapts to network conditions to maximize throughput and minimize latency. At just 1% packet loss and 10ms round trip time, a normal unprotected link using TCP/IP will only achieve 2.6% of the theoretical throughput as opposed to 89.8% if the same link was protected with DuroStream. Forward error correction technology along with header and payload compression are employed to make sure protocol overhead and latency due to retransmissions are minimized while retaining the ability to overcome packet oss rates up to 97%. The DuroStream DS1 appliance is particularly suited to protecting VoIP traffic, streaming video, live event broadcasts, public safety and critical infrastructure communications, business continuity and disaster recovery operations, remote backups, and general data transfer.
