Advantest's Global Deployment of New MPT3000 Testers for Solid-State Drives Commences With Multiple Orders

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TOKYO, JAPAN -- (Marketwired) -- 07/30/14 -- Leading semiconductor test equipment supplier Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857) (NYSE: ATE) has received multiple MPT3000 system orders from prominent manufacturers of solid-state drives (SSDs). The new testers, just introduced in June, have been successfully installed in the customers' facilities and are being used in testing next-generation SSD devices that are soon to become commercially available.

The multi-protocol MPT3000, being used initially for testing PCIe Gen 3 NVMe enterprise SSDs, was chosen for its performance and easy-to-use software, fast bring-up from installation to results and Advantest's excellent global support. The systems are now in use to accelerate SSD product development and the ramp up to production.

To provide an efficient test solution for the SSD market, the MPT3000 combines Advantest's expertise in high-speed system-on-chip (SoC) testing with state-of-the-art electronics architecture, including proprietary hardware acceleration and performance up to 12 Gbps. The system's multi-protocol capability and high parallelism enable full performance testing of a variety of SSD form factors including half- and full-height PC cards, 2.5-inch drives, M.2 and devices with customized form factors.

Advantest will be showcasing the new MPT3000 system in its booth, #614-615, at the Flash Memory Summit, August 5-7 in Santa Clara, California.
