Action Sports Hub Pays Tribute to "Ride a Wave," and the X-Dance Film Festival Nominee "The Go Big Project"
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA, Dec 29, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
For one insane week each winter, the world's top action sports
filmmakers and athletes, along with cutting-edge bands, DJs and key
figures from the entertainment industry, gather in Salt Lake City,
Utah, to celebrate action sports culture at the annual X-Dance Action
Sports Film Festival. Action Sports Hub is proud to announce out of 9
short film title nominees for the X-Dance there is one stand out
prospect... "The Go Big Project" has gone BIG. "Ride a Wave" has
been nominated by the X-Dance out of hundreds of submitted films.
"Ride a Wave" will be available for online viewing January 5th, 2010
at www.ActionSportsHub.com.
"Ride a Wave" is a compelling story of one man's dream, the people
who help make it a reality, and the children and families affected by
the spirit of the community known as "Surf City." A Santa Cruz
community bands together to give special needs and disadvantaged
youth the thrill of catching a wave; for most, the experience of a
lifetime. The "Ride a Wave" story is a touching, heartwarming film
that has a magical effect on all that watch it, while embracing those
who can't swim or have never even experienced being in the ocean, let
alone catching a wave, but also highlights the effects it has on the
volunteers and people involved, many of whom come back year after
year due to the positive impact "Ride a Wave" has on their lives.
Other nominees with The Go Big Project that will be viewed at the
X-Dance are production companies such as Warren Miller Entertainment,
Teton Gravity Research, Standard films, The Ski Channel, Fluid Films,
Poor Specimen Productions, The Burton Corporation, Sector 9, Red Bull
Media House and many more. Action Sports Hub CEO Roy Sahachaisere
states, "This could put 'The Go Big Project' on the global map.
They've consistently created action packed, artistic and high quality
productions that are due to be noticed." Roy goes on to say,
"Because of their ability to create raw footage into great content,
Action Sports Hub has been engaging in conversations with The Go Big
Project to add distribution for their content including films, short
films and still photos. The Go Big Project in return has agreed to
supply Action Sports Hub with a considerable amount of content for
Action Sports & MMA enthusiasts for the website launch on January
1st, 2010 including featuring the premiere for their newest film
'Stealing Cars.'"
CEO of The Go Big Project, Rocky Romano, states, "We are honored to
be nominated for this prestigious film festival. X-Dance is truly the
Academy Awards of action sports films and to be accepted out of
hundreds of films from around the world is a huge accomplishment. As
action sports film makers, we appreciate the commitment to story line
and the art of film making that X-Dance has and continues to
celebrate."
