Accenture Selected by Japanese Government to Consult On Food Supply Chain Project Big4.com Reports

Big4.com reports the Ministry's "Project for Measures to Improve Food Supply Capabilities in an Emergency" is to address the national priority of building an enhanced food supply chain network. Big4.com also notes that accenture will analyze the cases where the food supply chain became dysfunctional and then propose guidelines for collaborative agreements among food suppliers aimed at maintaining business operations during disasters and emergencies.
Joichi Ebihara, Accenture's lead executive on the project comments:

"The initiative will not just improve the resilience of Japan's food supply chain, but help to strengthen the agility and competitiveness of suppliers, producers and retailers."
