Absolute wins International Stevie Award for Best Sales Team

(Canada Newswire English Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Attention Business Editors

VANCOUVER, Sept. 4 /CNW/ - Absolute(R) Software Corporation ("Absolute" or the "Company") (TSX: ABT), the leading provider of firmware-based, patented, computer theft recovery, data protection and Secure Asset Tracking?(TM) services has won an International Stevie(R) Award for 'Best Sales Team' in The 2008 International Business Awards ("IBAs").

Competition for the prestigious award included high-caliber sales organizations such as Dow Jones, Reliance Mutual Fund and WebEx Communications.

"Absolute's global sales and business development teams have worked strategically to build out the market for the company's SaaS-delivered IT security products, so this accolade is well deserved," said Carter McCrary, Chief Operating Officer of Absolute.

Added McCrary, "The go-to-market team has grown our contracted subscriber base by 110% over the last year, doubling the Company's subscriber base, without losing sight of delivering a world-class customer experience for our clients."

Key to the team's success is its tight integration with Absolute's marketing and customer service teams.

The International Business Awards are the only global, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in business.

"Entries in the IBAs grew 65% this year and that illustrates the increasing importance of The International Business Awards worldwide," said Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards, presenters of the IBAs. "We congratulate all of the finalists and International Stevie Awards winners, and we look forward to honoring them for their achievements at our gala awards dinner in Dublin on September 8."

Recipients of International Stevie Award trophies were selected from more than 1,700 entries received from organizations and individuals in more than 30 countries. Organizations all over the world are eligible to compete in The International Business Awards, and can enter in any of more than 40 categories from Best Multinational Company and Best New Product to Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program and Best Executive.

Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected International Stevie winners from among the Finalists, which were determined by volunteer judges around the world during two months of preliminary judging.

Nicknamed the Stevie(R) for the Greek word "crowned," the awards will be presented to winners at a gala dinner on Monday, September 8, 2008 in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, Ireland.
