3M: 3M Demos Laptop Privacy Filters and Micro Projector to
LondonCityAirportPassengers; Free privacy filter giveaway and
first-time demonstration of micro projector in airport departure lounge
from 28th September to 24th October
(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
RDATE:19092008
Bracknell, UK -- Diversified technology company 3M will be staging a
laptop security awareness campaign at London City Airport Departure
Lounge, 28th September - 24th October, to encourage safe remote working
practices among travel buyers, bookers, arrangers and business
travellers themselves. The company will be giving away complimentary
screen privacy filters to departure passengers carrying a laptop (or
those that have their laptop make and model ready). 3M will also show
its new super mobile projection innovation to a UKaudience for the
first time.
According to a recent survey conducted by flexible workplace solutions
provider Regus(1), over a third of British business travellers have
caught sight of sensitive documents or information on laptops.
Furthermore, an alarming 10 per cent of these said they have been able
to use this information for their own business purposes. To help
counteract this problem and to encourage business travellers to make
laptop security standard when out and about, 3M is offering passengers
the opportunity to board their flight with their very own laptop screen
filter.
Vikuiti Privacy Filters from 3M help protect sensitive on-screen
information from security breaches caused by acts such as shoulder
surfing and provide business travellers with peace of mind when working
on their laptops in public places. The filters fit neatly over laptop
screens, and can be readily removed and stored when privacy is not
required. Their design allows an unrestricted view for the user but
prevents others positioned to the side or viewing over their shoulder
from seeing what is on the screen.
Alongside the privacy filters, 3M will demonstrate its new MPro110
micro professional projector. Available to buy from 1st October,
MPro110 is a miniature and lightweight device comparable to the size of
a Smartphone and is the first of its kind on the market. Via a VGA
quality connection, MPro110 can be easily connected to a laptop for
delivery of impromptu sales pitches and business presentations while on
the road. It can also connect to a range of other digital applications
such as multimedia mobile phones, iPods, digital cameras and games
consoles for spontaneous sharing of photos and video clips.
MPro110 projects images from 6 inches up to 50 inches diagonal on to
the closest smooth surface such as a wall, ceiling or airplane
seatback. Its rechargeable battery gives up to 60 minutes running time
for even greater mobility.
