2012 Cabling Icon Winner Named in Low Voltage Cabling Industry Contest
DULLES, Va. --(Business Wire)--
Cabling
Icon has announced that Dan Dosch is the winner of the 2012 Cabling
Icon contest and will receive the $6,000 cash jackpot, the coveted
Golden Punch Down award, an embroidered Cabling Icon leather vest,
bragging rights and an all expenses paid trip to Disneyworld.
Dan was awarded the Golden Punch Down award as well as his $6,000 cash
prize at the BICSI
2012 Winter Conference & Exhibition by Dennis Mazaris, Cabling
Icon creator and judge, Dan Morris, the chair of the BICSI (News - Alert) Installation
Committee, and David Richards, the chair of the BICSI Cabling Skills
Challenge. Pictures
of the presentation of the check and golden punch down award have
been posted on the Cabling Icon website. As the 2012 Cabling Icon, Dan
has gone on to compete in the 2012
BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge with a grand prize of $5,000 and the
bragging rights as 2012 BICSI Installer of the year.
In his Cabling
Icon videos throughout the multiple rounds, Dan emphasized the
importance of safety on the job as he demonstrated various techniques
that can only be learned from years of experience in the low voltage
cabling industry. Dan proved to the voters and audience of the 2012
Cabling Icon contest that he takes pride in his work, going above and
beyond with his detail-oriented video editing-something Betsy Conroy,
industry writer and Cabling Icon judge, pointed out in her comments from
his Round
1 video.
"Dan has taken the initiative to earn professional accreditations and
designations from recognized and respected organizations, indicating he
has a long-term view of his future and has the knowledge necessary to
make career out of cabling-infrastructure installation. His video
portfolio showcases his hands-on ability," said Patrick McLaughlin,

Installation & Maintenance Magazine and judge of Cabling Icon.
