OTTAWA. x--15s. The Canadian army will conduct a formal review of whether its soldiers were ordered to turn a blind eye to the sexual abuse of boys by Afghan security forces in Kandahar. Afghanistan's ambassador in Ottawa, Omar Samad, welcomed the investigation, but stresses the government of President Hamid Karzai is expecting to work along side the Canadian military. He says any criminal activity would be dealt with by his country's justice system.

05 - (Afghan-Ministers)

CORNWALLIS, N.S. x--14s. Defence Minister Peter MacKay says he's ``very happy'' the United States is planning to send more troops to Afghanistan. MacKay joined other defence ministers of nations with troops in southern Afghanistan for informal talks yesterday in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. MacKay says the additional deployment of U-S troops should be viewed as reinforcement, not a replacement.
