LG-Nortel Unified Communications Devices Optimized for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007

Joint Venture LG-Nortel (News - Alert) has introduced the LG-Nortel IP Phone 8500 series unified communications devices customized for use with Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communicator 2007.


 
Using LG-Nortel IP Phone 8500 series, mobile users will be able to take advantage of unified communications as effectively as fixed location office users. Users can easily access sophisticated unified communications capabilities such as VoIP, directory dialing, calendar integration, call diversion and presence checking. The IP Phone 8540 also offers the ability to securely access personal profile information such as contacts, calendars, voice mail and call logs.
 
"Unified communications breaks down the barriers between voice, email, conferencing, video, and instant messaging, ensuring that people always have an appropriate way to reach their peers," said Jae-Ryung Lee, chief executive officer, LG-Nortel. "The launch of Office Communications Server 2007 brings the world exceptional unified communications capabilities, and our IP Phone 8500 family includes innovative end-user devices for accessing those capabilities with an ease of use that reflects LG-Nortel's mission of providing customers with a great communication experience anytime, and at any location."
 
LG-Nortel unified communications devices comprise of three models optimized for Office Communications Server 2007 and Office Communicator 2007. The LG-Nortel IP Phone 8540 features a large 5.7-inch color touch screen LCD display and delivers an improved communications experience, including high-quality wideband audio for clearer voice and security features such as a biometric fingerprint lock.
 
The LG-Nortel USB Phone 8501 is a PC peripheral that offers high-quality wideband audio and tight integration with Office Communicator 2007 in a familiar desktop handset form factor. The LG-Nortel Wireless Headset 8502 with Bluetooth wireless technology adds untethered functionality with a range of up to 10 meters and a talk-time of up to six hours.
