Winning More Business with Automated Proposal Solutions: Interview with Netformx CEO

By Beecher Tuttle, TMCnet Contributor

As the unofficial capital of the tech world, Silicon Valley is home to many of the most innovative companies in the U.S. With that in mind, TMC (News - Alert) recently headed out to the west coast to meet with executives from some of the up-and-coming tech firms from around the San Jose area.

In the below interview, TMC CEO Rich Tehrani (News - Alert) speaks with Ittai Bareket, CEO of Netformx, a provider of automated software solutions aimed at helping service providers, system integrators and manufacturers in the telecom space to win more business.

As Bareket explains, Netformx's software packages enable presales departments to quickly and intuitively capture enterprise customer requirements and convert them into deployable solutions. The company's portfolio of products can automate extremely time-consuming proposals for nearly any deployment, no matter how complex and integrated.

Bareket told Tehrani that today's enterprise requirements are more multifaceted than ever before. Customers are often looking to deploy IP video, Internet telephony and public, private and hybrid cloud solutions using multiple vendors, making manual proposals extremely difficult to fabricate.

Netformx allows service providers to sell more solutions and more complex offerings in less time and with fewer investments, Bareket said.

"If you are trying to generate a proposal for an enterprise customer, you may need to pull from different manufacturers like Cisco, HP and Plantronics (News - Alert), and then add your own services to the mix," Bareket said, adding that most of Netformx's customers use around 14 different applications to generate one proposal.

"When they come to us, they can generate deeper proposals with just one application because we have configuration and proposal generation engines, and we also maintain a multi-vendor knowledge base, so we have a catalog of all the vendors," he continued.

When asked what Netformx is looking to accomplish moving forward, Bareket said that the company's goal is to conduct more business in the cloud and data center environments while continuing to expand globally.

Currently, Netformx has a presence in more than 60 countries, but maintains a focus on the North American market. Bareket attributes some of his company’s success to its ability to provide value in both prospering and struggling economic conditions.

In related news, John Trembley, director of strategy and product marketing at Netformx, will be speaking at ITEXPO West 2011, the world's premier communications conference and expo, which kicks off on Sept. 13 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.

His session, titled, "Design to Win: How CSPs Can Achieve a Better Customer Experience and Higher Profitability from Enterprise IP Communications Rollouts," begins at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
