Soundbars, Headphones, and Speakers: Best Audio Tech Unveiled at the IFA 2019

The IFA has always been a great time to check out the latest speakers, soundbars, and headphones, among other audio gadgets. The 2019 edition of the IFA was no different from the others, though there wasn’t much in terms of groundbreaking, never-seen innovations. Instead, the pervading trend in this year’s edition was all about big and small brands building on existing technologies to make their products better than ever.

Here’s the best in audio technology as revealed by Europe’s biggest tech show of the year:

Best Headphones: Sony WI-1000XM2

When it comes to enjoying games like the Michigan Lottery, a good pair of headphones might come in handy. Sony has an awesome reputation when it comes to creating outstanding noise-canceling headphones, with the WI-1000XM2 being of their finest creations. These new headphones boast of a cutting-edge design just like its predecessors, with an excellent noise-cancellation feature.

The sound quality that the WI-1000XM2 delivers seems very good, and the battery life is even more solid. It can maintain the power for up to 10 hours, which is a considerable improvement from its predecessors. Even better, the vocals are crystal clear with enough power and clarity to give you a well-defined and immersive playback.

Best Soundbar: Anker Nebula

Not satisfied with their presence on your tablets, smartphones, and web browsers, Amazon keeps on pushing into the televisions and home smart speakers market. The Anker Nebula features inbuilt Fire TV, allowing you to use it for watching prime video, YouTube (News - Alert), Netflix and more. It also comes with Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa to allow you use your voice alone to navigate your TV.

Performance-wise, it comes with dual in-built subwoofers that make it pretty bassy with a room-filling sound thanks to its 2.1 channel design. It doesn’t support Dolby Atmos, so you can’t expect to enjoy surround sound quality, though you can connect it with your Echo Speakers for spreading the audio around your room.

Best Turntable: Audio-Technica AT-LP5X

After a brief moment with the AT-LP5X, it has been hard to find any fault with this modern turntable. Audio-Technica did everything in their power to ensure they’ve committed good materials, with the ability to digitize records and flexible enough to add your chosen audio components. |That makes it a great turntable to have alongside your vinyl player.

The lack of Bluetooth compatibility may be a turn off for some users, but its audio performance is well worth setting up the audio cables. For audiophiles, the wired connectivity is a plus as it offers high-level audio output which wireless connectivity may not match.

Best Speaker: Sonos Move

Sonos offers everything from imposing architectural wireless speakers to soundbars, but they’ve never offered a portable Bluetooth speaker till now. This long-awaited Sonos speaker comes with impressive flexibility, offering everything you’d want in a portable Bluetooth speaker and an in-home multi-room setup. Additionally, it rocks a modern look that will impress most Millenials that value a modern and simplistic look with user-friendly remote control.
