Video Email - The Future of Communication

In the age of advancing technology, video communication is an integral part of the company culture and here in this area, there will be an elaborate breakdown on why is this so. Over a decade ago, in a survey done related to this matter, it was found out that over 90% of the employees wanted to communicate using video for their internal communication. Henceforth, several companies are gradually corresponding with different video editing Co in their area and adding on video email and other relevant features as new modes of communication in their offices.

There are three different possibilities when choosing a video email to use.

Video Text Link

text links pointing to videos is too common on the Internet The link is a bunch of numbers and meaningless symbols that make little sense unless the person who has prepared the link in the first place adds something catchy to draw attention.

Video Thumbnail

It is where a picture is given to click to play the video email. This image looks somewhat like a play button. Pressing the button, opens up the email and plays the email effortlessly. Surveys do suggest that using this as a mode of communications increases the response rate 5-10 times as compared to the standard text link.

Video within the Email

Some email companies do still send emails with a video. This although sounds good but is intrusive and annoying as well because opening up an email and seeing a video play can make the receiver irritated as this turns out to be an invasion of their private space. Most of these videos play via a plug-in or extension.

Here are some reasons including video in an email has become a usual practice in the workplace.

  • People watch videos more often by most Internet users today.
  • With a video link, an email has a higher rate of being clicked upon for viewing compared to the emails with no video links.

These will be discussed in details over here:

  1. This eliminates commitment problems within the company amongst both employees and employers alike. One of the greatest task communicators faces is how to engage employees who are too bored, busy, etc on what the company has to deliver. here is how videos can help as statistics say that people are prone to watch the video of a live seminar on a social medium site, like Facebook than having to attend it first-hand. This is also clear on how long people love browse videos on YouTube (News - Alert) over any other meaningful task in hand.

2.  Let’s say you have sent emails to your employees in the company about a very important task but how can you make sure that your employee has opened up the email from your cubicle unless you have sent a reminder to them. If you are communicating using the video, you are assured that your message has been delivered properly and at the exact time you wanted. You will also be able to analyze how did they receive the video, how long have they viewed the video. All these data ultimately allows you to see how well is your content being accepted by the employees. This is also known as the digital body language and will give a true insight into the time they are engaged seriously.

3.  Both employers and employees alike are afraid of using the video as the mode of communication amongst themselves are because of the fear of being exposed. If the video falls into the wrong hands and becomes viral, the company may lose a lot of its confidential data and this would shut the company owners in every way possible. There solves this problem. The videos that are being shared can be embedded into the Intranet page. Another way to tackle this issue is to share it in pages compatible with the Intranet security settings.

4.    Video emails are effective in transmitting vital information more quickly and have it not been forgotten. More than half of the learners prefer using visual means by watching something better than reading about it from the text. In this manner, the people involved in the communication can absorb the maximum information being conveyed.

5.   In the olden days when the employees were bound to receive messages, goals, etc via board meetings, phone calls or fax only and had no chance of sharing their opinion on the matter properly are now completely changed with video as communication. In this way, the employees can voice out their opinions and involve in a two-way discussion with their senior colleagues/employers, for instance using the video the employer can call on to action he wants his employees to take at that moment -enjoy asking feedback on a specific issue of the ongoing discussion.

Video Email is an emerging technology now, so this has a giant business scope like the TV ads when they first came out decades earlier. Henceforth this is the right time to use it while it is in the trend as a mode of internal communication.
