Queen's University:The Facts and Figures You Need

If you’ve been considering enrolling at Queen's University but still need a gentle nudge in the right direction, look no further. For many universities, it’s a case of using the usual marketing tactics and industry lingo to sell what’s on offer to prospective students. The difference is that, at Queen's University, no such selling is required.

With more than 175 years of tradition, Queen's University exists more as a community focused on academic excellence than a college in the normal respect. The campus is simply stunning, its location is breathtaking and the college is one of the oldest degree-granting institutions in Canada. By perfectly balancing the enjoyment aspect of student life with quality courses, students and faculty alike get a unique kick out of their time with Queen’s.

It’s All in the Numbers

As for those all-important facts and figures, diversity really is the name of the game at this inspiring university. For example, approximately 95 percent of the total student population comes from out of town, with more than 100 countries currently being represented by the Queen's University student body.  What’s more, the fact that around 90 percent of first-year students live on campus makes for one of the most incredibly diverse and social student experiences imaginable.

Getting folks involved in a wide variety of pursuits is also something that’s taken very seriously at this particular institution. For example, there are more than 400 clubs available for students – ranging from hardcore scientific research clubs to the Starbucks appreciation club. No joke – there really is one… expensive coffee is apparently a big deal at Queen's University!

In total, there are approximately 22,000 students taking part in the various courses and programs offered by Queen’s. More importantly, the most recent tally showed that more than 86 percent of students who enrol at the university successfully graduate, which is, by a relatively wide margin, the single highest percentage of any university in Canada!

As it stands, the faculty at Queen's University exists to the tune of close to 9,000 individuals, many of whom started out at the university themselves and found it impossible to leave come graduation. It’s not that they necessarily would have wanted to – few academic institutions in the world come close to the Queen’s experience. For those who do decide to part ways with the university, Queen’s is relentlessly committed to its partnerships and connections with local businesses and organizations, helping ensure as much talent as possible is reinvested locally.

There are plenty of reasons to sign up with Queen's University and absolutely no reason not to – unless, of course, you don’t value things like academic quality, success and extraordinary social experiences.  In that case, feel free to look elsewhere, but don’t expect the kind of all-around experience Queen's University students and faculty alike enjoy as the standard.
