Collecting Valuable 'Old but Gold' Tech Items

Some might say that tech devices lose their value with the passing of time, but we think otherwise! Some old devices can be worth a small fortune these days, and we plan on showcasing a few below so you can find out their extraordinary value. We’ve added some tech collectibles and some non-tech items, as well, mainly targeted at more traditionalist collectors out there.



Retro PCs

It seems that a classic Apple (News - Alert) 1 computer owned by a recycling center was sold to a collector for about £130,000. So, in case you, too, own such a computer, get ready to get rich! You don’t even need the rare Apple 1 device because, if you check eBay (News - Alert), for instance, you’ll see that also the Apple IIe is listed for about £150-200 if it powers on.  

Another valuable device is the 1980s home computer Oric Atmos.  In decent condition, it can be sold online for £150. You can also find its brother, the Oric 1, online priced at £250.  

The Dragon 32 is another interesting item, and it’s currently listed on eBay for £199.  The obscure Jupiter Ace is offered now for the surprising amount of £900!  Sinclair research, in case you had no clue, was one of the biggest names in the UK computing during the 80s and its ZX80 device is currently sold online for £500.

Non-tech items

Even if they’re not really tech goodies, they’re still interesting and cool collectibles. We’re talking about Limoges boxes. Any enthusiast appreciates an amazing collection of artistic and breathtaking creations, especially if they’re manufactured in France. You’ll be able to check out some amazing of French Limoges Boxes sold by Limoges Collector, and we’ll guarantee you’ll be impressed by these miniature masterpieces.

Mobile Phones

An iPhone (News - Alert) 5 16GB model still in good condition can get you £100, and the iPhone 4S 16GB is sold for £60. Samsung on the other hand can get you £100 for the Galaxy S4 model and £70 for the Galaxy S3. The Note 3 is currently sold for £170 for the right model.

Games & consoles

If you still own the original Super Mario Brothers VGA 80+ for the NES,  you can get lots of cash, because on eBay one unopened copy is now sold for £2000!  Space Invaders is sold for a price between £750 and £1000.  The Atari 2600 system is being sold for £50.
